The first three photos below labeled Photo 1, 2, etc., are of the Second or Top Floor.  If you click on any one of the photos you can refer to the floor plan and see the perspective these photos represent to orient yourself.  The remaining photos are described and you can reference the floor plans for these as well although they are not specifically marked on the plans.  Not all rooms are pictured below, but hopefully we can remedy that eventually.

If you want to see the Corolla Wild Horses you'll need to take a trip up north on the 4 wheel drive beach.  These two were grazing on top of the beach dunes.
If you can get to it, the 4 wheel drive beach has many interesting sites you are not likely to see elsewhere on the Outer Banks.  These stumps are all that remain from a long ago forest that existed before the ocean eroded the land and took over.

A Snowy Paradise!

Given the size limitations of the photo it may be hard to tell at first, but this is indeed snow and not white sand!  Yes, the Outer Banks was hit by a blizzard on January 23, 2003, which finally concluded with 8 inches of the white stuff and drifts of up to 4 feet.  This may be small potatoes to folks in the great white north, but down at the beach it's a once in a lifetime event!
And here's the same snow on the beach.  Just makes you want to go sunbathing doesn't it? (In the Caribbean maybe where a white sand beach is sand!)

Should we wait for the spring thaw or hook him off the ice?!
Ever take a trip to the 4 wheel drive beach?  There are plenty of rentals up there and lots of locals who used to live farther south have moved there for the seclusion.  Some are more receptive to visitors then others as you can see.
Watching the sunset from the observation deck one evening this little fellow wandered by and hung around for a while oblivious to us having a drink and enjoying ourselves.
Sunset from the Observation Deck.  Imagine yourself here with a glass of wine or beer!
President's Day 2004 - You never think about snow at the beach (and it usually doesn't, but here we go two years in a row!  Just a light dusting of 2 inches this time.
^ It may not look inviting, but it is pretty.  ^

I've got you now my pretty and your little dog Toto too!
Oh No I'm Melting!
(Who says working on your beach house is dull because you're not enjoying the beach!)  >>
